364/31

This is my last post for my first 365, even though it says 364. Some where I have made a mistake in my counting. I also need the wind turned off. I'm getting  grumpy!! Todays pics are Crocsomia or Montbretia and  the seed head of Clematis "Barbara Jackman.

363/30

I have another two lilies out, both in the pink shades. My Thalictrum delavayi 'Hewitt's Double' has got carried away this year. The descriptions say 1.2 metres, but as you can see mine has made it to the level of the spouting at about 2.5metres!

362/29

The end of the weekend (sigh) I have achieved very little!!!! Today's photos are....... My gifted yucca repotted and in pride of place in the conservatory and a collection of fuchsia flowers from the garden. I am going to try to make some standard ones for next season as I think they are much better viewed from other than ground level.

361/28

Saturday came and went too fast. I did manage to harvest my garlic and shallot crops, both of which were OK. I have also had some nice flowers on my Calla Green Goddess.

360/27

Yea Friday. A mornings work, then some granddaughter sitting in the afternoon. Pic one is a hebe and Clethra alnifolia. They look very similar in the flowers but the plants are quite different. The second pic is heuchra southern comfort (I think.) I like the way there are so many different shades of leaves at the same time.

359/26

Well, no more home movies to watch but I think some of the family will have a giggle at some stage when they see them. Thursdays pic's, more glad colours including two shades of lavender and a little lime yellow one. The second photo is at this point nameless as I can't remember it at all, but it does look good flowering in a pot in the BBQ area.

358/25

This is becoming a bad habit, running late with my posts. Yesterday was a lovely day to be a gardener, topped of with some granddaughter minding late in the afternoon. The evening was spent watching some video's we took back in the early ninety's, that hubby  had put on to disk. Hilarious!!!! Anyway enough excuses, garden pics again. The yellow daisy is the flower from Ligularia Britt-Marie Crawford. The second one is the climber Campsis grandiflora, Chinese trumpet creeper. Mine is covered in flowers this year.

357/24

Where are my pictures taken? Outside the restaurant I went to for tea, with my good friend Mrs K. But first there was The Muppet Movie, a feel good two hours of singing, dancing and amazing muppet characters. Thanks Mrs K!

356/23

I spent too much time in the kitchen last night!! So here is yesterdays post, both garden pics again. The White Snow Queen lilies are looking fantastic with lots of heads on each stem.

355/22

Sunday and the weather has just turned yuck. I am very pleased to have the last of the redcurrant crop picked and only one bowl left to de-stalk. Photo two is the next of my glads to flower, more different colours which  is neat.

354/21

Yesterday hubby and I had breakfast out, than went to the Dunedin Farmers Market www.otagofarmersmarket.org.nz. On the way back to the car we realised the vintage car run was on and all the cars were still in the Octagon, so... we had to have a look.

353/20

Friday seems a while ago.... so I must be running late again. These photos are in a clients garden, and we hope to shift things when its not so dry. I decided to record where plants are at the moment as it is so hard to remember later.

352/19

Thursday is over and the week is almost finished. Time seems to be flying. The first photo is a clients Hydrangea, a plant I don't usually like, but this one is rather nice. The second photo was my job after work - to unpot the spring bulbs and leave them in the shed for the winter.  Do I think I will be able to remember which is which and not muddle them up?

351/18

Another beautiful day successfully spent gardening. I did take some photos in a clients garden today, as her two clematis were looking stunning. I also have two more colours out in my glad patch, I love the green one!!

350/17

This will have me caught up,  yeah. Had to pick up the fur grandchild, Jack, on my way home from work today. His M and D are on holiday for two nights. The second pic is my Chocolate cosmos, Cosmos atrosanguineus, which has been very prolific this season.

349/16

Monday was a full day at work in my Abbotsford gardens. I was given a large Yucca plant by a client who is moving to a retirement village. I haven't decided where it will go but it will get a size up of pot. The second pic is the first echinacea flower out, very pretty it is too.

348/15

Very behind AGAIN!! This is catch up, with some time spent in the garden on Sunday then BBQ tea with family. My sun flowers are going to the sky, all be it rather thinly. My Tunnel house is finally growing.

347/14

I just cannot decide what to do first, so sat down to do my pic's while deciding. We went to the farmers market this morning and then to the Octagon for breakfast, this guy was enjoying his too. The next two colours of glads are out, I do like the pink one with the darker spots.

346/13

Not sure what happened to yesterdays blog, I could not get the photos loaded, then today they are ALL there. Don't know how to undo it either.... so there they will stay. Today's photo, an ironing board, is because it rained and I didn't go to work, so, no mending left, no ironing left and all the Christmas decorations properly away till next year. The other pic is the first flowers I have had on my standard feijoas. Acca sellowiana.

345/12

Just taking a break from de-stalking more red currants. Hubby seems to have found other things to do....... Anyway today's photo is trying to show just how many currants there are each bush. Half the battle is getting in as they are in a cage that you can't stand up in. It makes for interesting manoeuvring. The second pic is my sweet pea colours for the year. A rather limited palette.

344/11

Yes I'm back to two garden photo's, I just can't help myself. The two lilies were out yesterday but my photo quality was hopeless, today was much better. The second is the different shades of Alstromerias  I have in the rockery. They are are the Princess Lily series, none of which I can remember the names of. Mind you there was about fifteen different ones!!

343/10

Today at work was only slightly easier, with the weather not being quite so hot. Both clients gardens are large and the weeds have not been on holiday. I did finish trimming my box hedge before I left this morning, so tick that of the 'to do' list. Lillies feature in today's pic's as I have more out now after a bit of a gap.

342/9

First day of work for the year!!! I am old ... it was a hard day. So when I got home and found hubby had picked and stalked this many red currants I was very pleased. The other pic is Glad number three, a purple and lemon one.

341/8

Home this afternoon via Mandeville, but unfortunately no one was working at the vintage aircraft co, so no look around for hubby. Took his pic beside a plane instead. Had to do the rounds of my garden once home and found my second colour of glad out. A most unusual shade of lavender with peachy pink in the centre.

340/7

Saturday was spent on a day trip across Lake Manapouri, down into the power station, across Wilmott  Pass and a boat trip on Doubtful sound out to the Tasman Sea. The weather was beautiful and the water was fairly calm (thank goodness). The lily was growing in the garden of our accommodation, I have never seen so many heads of one stem before.
