This is the third bunch of three stems from my new purple glads. An impromptu buy from the warehouse, they have been great. The colour isn't quite right though they should be purpler, not as blue.

Slipped up today, no photo and it is pitch dark and almost bedtime, so..... cheating with a photo from last week in Naseby. The very old trees in the domain/reserve are amazing.

Another day trip to Central  Otago today, but no wineries this time. Instead a generous amount of fruit for jam and eating. Also a chance to finish Gee-Rafe while hubby at his meeting. The only problem is Elle-phant has turned out rather small in comparison,  the joy of not having a pattern!!!

The berries of this Viburnum are  fantastic, but the photo was not taken in my garden as the birds have eaten everything here.

Eucryphia x nymansensis is looking stunning at the moment and the closeup of the flower with it's mass of stamens is amazing.

14

Yet another plant in my garden that has weed status, the Japanese anemone. Anemone japonica.

13

A very pretty 'weed' the Californian poppy. Eschsholzia californica.

It's a pity computers don't have a scent function, the chocolate cosmos really does smell like chocolate. Cosmos atrosanqineus.

More Glads

10

I have come to the conclusion this is going to end up a gardeners blog with a little craft thrown in on wet days. The moment I pick up the camera (I'm away to look for the instruction manual cause I must be able to do better) I head to a flower or plant I saw while doing something else. I have decided I will name plants where I can as it will be a very useful reference for me later on. Today I will try for 5posts and that will have me up to date for Feb. Glads love 'em or hate 'em you have to admit they come in some stunning colours.
