242/30

The last day of September and still more new daffs, but not quite enough, so a trillium has been added to the mix. I do think this is the last of the daffs this time.

241/29

A rhodo combo today. The top left is Red Felix, the bottom right is Shooting star, and the bottom left was supposed to be White Pearl as it is planted in my WHITE garden. Me thinks its not!!! The other two are my usual unlabeled plants but still nice.

240/28

Just a simple photo of the blossom that is out in the garden at the moment, although after the wind today there is not as many flowers left on them.

239/27

I was wrong there were more Daffs to come out. These two are very colour co-ordinated but not in the same part of the garden!!

238/26

Another Monday morning and the last one of September. The garden has something new out most days now, including another frit Fritillaria acmopetala , so I do have more than one!!! The other pics are Lachenalia aloides, Muscari armeniacum  a double form, or you could say a matchhead on steriods. I think I have all the names correct, I am fine on the family but sometimes remembering the variety is harder.

237/25

I was wrong, one more collection of daffs, the last... maybe. I do love the centre top one. Thank you Anne!

236/24

I do still enjoy doing flowers at times, its just collecting everything and cleaning up afterwards. This church arrangement doesn't look great as the colours haven't come out quite right. The Rhodo is Unique and it has much more of a buttery yellow tinge that goes OK with the daffs.

235/23

It looks like it is going to be straight from daffs to rhodo's, this is my reds out at the moment. None are named as most were seconds from the nursery. I really should make an attempt to name them when I have spare time......

234/22

This is the last of my daffs to flower, it has been a fantastic season and photographing them has made me realise how many different ones I have.

233/21

A very hard late frost this morning, I do hope it doesn't spoil my Omega plum crop again this year! Today's photo is my only flowering Fritillaria meleagris although they are supposed to be easy to grow, I can't concur........

232/20

My Michelias are just starting to look good. I love the brown furry buds. I saw the new Fairy Blush at the garden centre today, it was tempting but I resisted.

231/19

Not in my garden unfortunatly, but I wish it was. I'm not sure of it's name but I will ask the owner at some stage. I do love this colour of rhodo.

230/18

I really shouldn't have had Magnolia envy the other day, as I do have four nice ones of my own. They all appear to be going to have a good number of flowers. The only one I can name is Susan, top right. The bottom left was given to me 19 years ago and the centre bottom and right was in the garden when we arrived 24 years ago. Neither have made it to large trees, I am obviously very hard on them.

229/17

I spent a reasonably productive day cutting up the wood in the paddock the men felt was too small for them to bother with. I think it was worthwhile!!!!

228/16

I stopped in a clients garden to take most of these.  I find it amazing the variety of shapes, sizes, and shades of  Camellias. I don't know many of the names as they aren't labeled. It is a pity they don't do well as a cut flower.

227/15

This is  about the last of my Daffs to come out, I am really enjoying them this year. I think making the effort to photograph them has made me appreciate just how many different ones I have. Although like lillies you can never have too many!!!!

226/14

A random collection today. The Trillium was given to be by a lady I worked with, it has lovely leaf markings. The Magnolia is flowering for the first time in my white garden, I can't remember its name. The daffs are flowering in the garden at my sons house, which my daughter is renting. I had to call in and visit the granddaughter on the way home from work!!!

225/13

A collection of flowers that are all out at the moment. It includes Anemone blanda ,Rhododendron 'Mount Everest'  Primula silver lace type and Omphalodes verna, at least I think it is verna!

223/11

Another daff collection!

222/10

A very simple picture today, Dog tooth violets Erythronium dens-canis, I struggle to get these spring bulbs to do well. I feel some plant moving coming on.

221/9

Yet another collage, also colour coordinated, of other spring flowers out in my garden at the moment.

Friday, September 9, 2011

220/8

Spring is here!!! Another collage I'm afraid, colour coordinated this time.

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

219/7

More Daffs out today, the sunshine has been working it's magic.

218/6

The next of my rhodos to flower is this smaller compact red, yes I have lost it's label, which I should be able to name if I did a trip to a garden centre!!! Sounds like a plan to me.

Tuesday, September 6, 2011

217/5

Back playing with the multi picture thing again, This time trying some of the borders etc with the lovely granddaughter in centre shot.

Monday, September 5, 2011

216/4

The early rhodos are starting to look good around the town. My Cornubia is finished but  Graham is looking OK.

Sunday, September 4, 2011

215/3

Nearly finished!!! A day spent helping make our son and daughter in law to be's wedding invitations. It seemed rather a daunting task at 10am but all went reasonably smoothly and we did decide "hand crafted" doesn't mean PERFECT!

Saturday, September 3, 2011

214/2

Scilla or Chinadoxa, I can never remember, but they have multiplied and are making a nice flowering clump at the moment. I do love blue in the garden.

Friday, September 2, 2011

213/1

A very interesting Camellia in a clients garden. Bi-colours are not normally one of my likes, but this one seems to work.
