I just made it round the garden before it was too dark, well almost. Some of the photos are average, but I had to take pics of all the latest rhodos out. This is now the bulk of my plants in flower and there are some very nice ones!!!

The view out our bedroom window this morning!!!! We were treated to a night at Pier 24 in Dunedin by our daughter and son-in-law  as a thank you for having them stay when they were first back in NZ. A lovely treat.

Is it Viola Maggie Mott? I was looking at a mail order catalogue that made mention that a lot of plants sold as Maggie Mott were in fact not! Their picture was quite different, more research needed I think.

The green ixia is one of those bulbs people either love or hate, I love  Ixia virdiflora.

I am rather pleased with  this clivia. It was a two dollar bargain at the warehouse at the end of last summer. I really didn't expect it to survive the winter, let alone flower.

Rhodos or azaleas.... how to decide. The answer is I couldn't, so this is a combo. I didn't realize I had so many different deciduous azaleas, they are lovely but a bit of a fleeting beauty.

Why a picture of an empty pond? Because this was my days work. Wearing waders, armed with hubbys water blaster I spent my day de-scumming the ponds. So pleased they are finished.

Yesterdays photo late again! I had daughter-in -law  to be's hens afternoon. It was my granddaughters first hens party (at three and a half months) Going ten pin bowling wearing a wig.

This is my first peony out for the season. I'm not sure where I got it and I think it is Paeonia veitchii, but I can't be sure. It's main draw back is no perfume.

I took the time to walk around the rhodos in my garden today, there are so many more out now. This is not all of them as I had a few "out of focus" problems today. I will try to go back out tomorrow and redo the ones I missed.

The rain has started to clear but not enough for gardening yet. I have managed to finish the sewing project from yesterday, and am very happy with the results. I'm not sure if the granddaughter will like the photo's wearing the headband in twenty years or so though.

It is raining, but I'm not going to growl as the garden was very dry. It is a pity the temp has dropped so much though. I'm off to sew but thought I would post this collection of flowers all out in the garden at the moment. I really don't like iris's that much, weeding between them is a pain, but the flowers are pretty special.

Rhododendron Trewithen Orange. I said thirty five years ago I must try and grow that Rhodo, so finally I got  one. Now the problem is to convince it to grow into a nice bush, not one of this rhodos strong points.

Yesterdays photo is just a bit late, it was a beautiful Sunday and I spent most of my day outside. I did stop for the perfect morning tea, daughters cupcake and hubbys coffee. YUM!

Today was a very lazy day. I spent yesterday afternoon babysitting while my talented daughter made and sold her amazing cupcakes. This photo shows just how much effort she puts into the decoration and they taste as good as they look.

The few tulips I have in the garden have done quite well, I really like the dark purples and must acquire more of them and less of the bright oranges!!!

Yes, it stopped blowing thank goodness, although the lawn had a bad case of Prunus Ukon dandruff! I'm surprised there are any flowers left on the tree.

If this wind doesn't stop blowing there will be no flowers left to photograph in my garden. I have had ENOUGH! It took me a while to work out what this wee gem is but I am pretty sure it is Tulipa bakeri. Not sure where or when I got it though.

I always said I couldn't grow freesias but this photo seems to prove me wrong. The top left one is not true to colour, it should be dark purple not blue, but I couldn't seem to get it to photograph accurately.

Rugby is such hard work from the couch!!!! I did say there were no more daff pics, I was wrong . Its amazing how long my daff season has been.

Early with today's photo to make up for yesterdays. The Kowhai in my back garden has had the most flowers ever in its short life, they are in huge clusters just dripping of the tree.

A little late with yesterdays photo! I ditched work yesterday to go to central for the day. I spent the voucher my daughter won last year in the Alex blossom festival Wool On competition. It was from a lovely shop in Clyde www.touchyarms.com, I got four lots of wool to knit for the beautiful granddaughter, not sure if that was what her auntie intended!!!!!! We then had lunch at the Ida Valley Kitchen www.otagocentralrailtrail.co.nz › Food and Refreshments . Lunch was delish.... so much so this is the photo of it. Opps.

The rhodos are loving the warm weather, every day there are more opening. I haven't named them all, I'm being lazy today. I hope I don't regret it!

Another collection of spring bulbs flowering at the moment. A double red tulip, the cream dogs tooth voilet Erythronium dens-canis, Sparaxis tricolour, and Uvularia grandiflora.  A random mix, but pretty.

Another blossom just looking super. This is Malus Charlotte, a crab apple, in my front garden, this is it's first year looking established.
